杏芳出豔盆中開，

沒有桃色植陰台。

摧筦墨烏根種下，

老樹自作盤缸栽。

Surpassing loveliness, plum flowers

will blossom in a pot

Though never is pink color seen

growing in the shade

Wave the brush, let the black ink bird

alight upon the roots

And an old tree, all on its own,

grows a shallow pan
